Playing volleyball with the beautiful teenage girls from Pagaden village.

Image
After I finished watching the Jaipong dance practice at the Subang arts studio, I went home with Mr. Yayan around 4 PM. On the way, we happened to pass by a place where many people were gathering. We stopped for a moment out of curiosity, which grew even stronger as we looked closer. It turned out that there was a women’s volleyball match between villages. The funniest part was that some of the volleyball players were dancing and moving in a style reminiscent of traditional Jaipong dance, blending historical steps with modern shakes. I was instantly amazed by their beauty and the way they moved. In short, I took a moment to enjoy their dancing and watch a bit of the volleyball match of the teenage girls from Pagaden village. If you want to see the video, I’ve already uploaded it on my Twitter account you can check it out here:

My journey to the Jaipong dance art studio in Subang

After I went eel hunting with Mr. Yayan , I went back home and chatted with some local residents, accompanied by him. From our conversation, I got some information about an art school   a Jaipong dance studio located in the Pagaden area of Subang . It is a traditional cultural dance studio that represents the heritage of the Subang community. There, I was able to witness the training firsthand something rarely known or published. I was amazed to see how many young women were interested in learning Jaipong dance. It truly reflects cultural empowerment that has been nurtured from an early age. The studio has several levels or classes, from level 1 to level 3. Here is the detailed explanation: For girls aged 5 to 10 years old: The training focuses on developing body flexibility and basic movement. For girls aged 11 to 16 years old: They learn coordinated body movements, including the art of graceful hip and head motion. For girls aged 17 years and above: They ...

A journey across West Java, exploring one city after another

My Journey Exploring West Java After arriving in Bandung, I decided to explore the small towns around the West Java region. Eventually, I chose to visit the nearby area of Subang, which wasn’t too far from the city center of Bandung, where I was staying. Long story short, I headed straight to Subang. Along the way, I saw many people selling buah ganas —a local fruit that’s both sweet and sour. When I finally arrived in Subang, I wanted to discover something hidden, something that hadn’t been exposed to the public. My search led me to a small village called Pagaden . There, I stayed at the home of one of the village elders, experiencing a simple rural life that few outsiders ever see. One day, I joined Pak Yayan , the village elder, on a tiring but exciting hunt for eels in the rice fields. It was a physically demanding task, but in the end, all our efforts paid off when we caught a huge eel! It truly felt like a remarkable victory catching such a creature amid the natural ...

A journey exploring Indonesia’s cultural and fashion tourism cit

My journey began at the Ibis Hotel in Jakarta. From there, I headed straight to the city of Bandung using the Daytrans transportation service. After about two hours on the road, I finally arrived in Bandung. I stayed at the Aston Pasteur Hotel, which is conveniently located in the heart of the city. As I entered the hotel lobby, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and receptionists. After settling in, I began exploring the city of Bandung — a destination famous for its culinary delights, natural attractions, rich history, and, of course, its reputation as Indonesia’s fashion capital. I started my tour in the Cihampelas area, a well-known fashion district filled with local boutiques and factory outlets that are famous throughout Indonesia. The prices there are quite affordable for people from all walks of life. After doing some shopping at several fashion outlets in Cihampelas, I continued my journey to one of Bandung’s most famous landmarks — the Al Jabbar Mosque, locat...

My Travel Journey I started my travel journey from the city of Jakarta. Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia, well-known as a metropolitan city. Here, I wanted to explore everything — from the sparkling nightlife to the beautiful natural attractions the city has to offer. After arriving at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, I went straight to the Ibis Hotel in Central Jakarta. From this point, I began my exploration of the city. Early the next morning, I headed to my first destination — Ancol Beach , a tourist spot that has long been associated with Jakarta. I spent about five hours there under the blazing sun before continuing my journey to my second destination — Kota Tua (the Old Town). I was truly amazed by the beauty of the Dutch colonial architecture from the VOC era. There are also many great photo spots here, perfect for content creators and influencers. I spent about five hours in Kota Tua until evening, enjoying the diversity of people and tasting one ...
